Women in Stem - Dr Catherine Ludden
As part of my ongoing series showcasing the amazing women in STEM, I got to sit down with Dr Catherine Ludden to discuss her work and importantly take her portrait.
Dr Catherine Ludden is a postdoctoral scientist specialising in Epidemiology and infection control. Originally from Ireland, Dr Ludden has produced works investigating the spread and origins of many bacterial infections common within the community and hospital system. Her work helps us to understand how simple but vital acts such as hand washing can reduce bacterial infections of patients as well as the origins of blood born bacteria which can be a real risk to patients.
